Karli's Krunchies Dilemma Empty Karli's Krunchies Dilemma

Karli's Krunchies is an online candy shop. The shop's offerings are continually expanding, and Karli would like to make sure that customers can always see all the items that are available. What Solution would you recommend to Karli and Why?

Explain all the planning and technologies that would be used to effect your solution.

Discuss and critique each other's solutions.

Being that Karli Krunches will be continually expanding their product I would recommend that they use a Content Management System with a Shopping Cart feature. This will be the most feasible and less tedious option because they won’t have to pay or have the task of coding in a new product when they become available. The shopping cart will be included for the purchasing of products online and let her be aware of the options available for hosting the website or ecommerce website. This could be done using a server on her location or on premise at another location or the purchase of an online domain. But let her beware of the cost and the disadvantages associated with each. But I would recommend she host it on an off premise location where it will be easy to maintain and security mechanism will be expertly in placed.

Seen that Karli's Krunchies is already online i would recommend that they creating an ASPX page and connect to a database to present the available products. By connecting to a database, Karli can be sure that every time the browser renders the ASPX page, the most current data will display. all that is needed to do this xampp or wamp and after writing the script the database can also be created.

I would recommend a building a ASPX webpage that utilizes a Content management system via a SQL database using Wamp or XAMP with shopping cart feature that will allow individuals to make purchases online. By connecting to a database, Karli is ensured that whenever the browser renders the ASPX page it will be updated showing only available content.

prestashop would be a good solution for karli krunchies, opensource shopping cart with thousands of themes and plugins to provide additional functionality.

it runs on the lamp stack, easy to setup and configure and adding additional products is a so simple even a caveman could do it

New site creators may be intimidated by every facet that needs to be managed . It can be difficult to keep tract of marketing and hosting when you're only concerned with putting new post on your site I found Weebly's website creation software benefits those small-business owners and site creators such as Karli's Krunchies who have little to no experience in building a site from scratch. Weebly is the Top Ten Reviews Gold Award winner in this category because it provides nearly every feature you could want, while also being an easy-to-use website builder. It provides responsiveness across each type of device and gives enough marketing tools to spread your brand across the web

In agreement with what Recado said, a Content Management System (CMS) would be just right for the Karli’s Krunchies online candy shop. And since we know it is an online candy shop, there is the assumption that the owner is already hosting the website and has acquired a domain name (top level preferably). If the owner has knowledge of IT STUFF he can attempt to install and configure the CMS himself (Wordpress can be installed within minutes) or if not, have an expert do it for a reasonable cost.

The database would be created (automatically) at the time of installation and he can install plugins that allow him to display his products in an elegant fashion on the front-end and extend the database to store data about his products, customers etc as well as a shopping cart plugin.
On the back-end, the owner can give employee(s) access to enter the info (eg. description, photo, number in stock ect) about the candies being sold without having access to any other backend features, he can even let their posts require his approval before being published on the front-end. Most importantly, he can log into the backend of the CMS without disturbing his webhost. Plus, they won’t need to code to get stuff done (just internet access).

There are just so many benefits with CMS which make it the perfect fit. But not all CMS are created equal and some require a bit of programming knowledge, willingness to learn new technologies and patience. I recently stumbled upon bootstrap-cms, a CMS built on the Laravel 5 framework which emphasizes security (some CMS become vulnerable by outdated and insecure plugins). It takes a bit of patience to understand NPM via Node.js and Grunt etc but it is worth it.
